Day 14.... Juicing Fast Again...Pineapple heaven!

Today is solo juicing once again.  It is so amazing how great I feel when I do this and I am making it a part of my life.  Swelling is still down in my legs and I want to keep it that way.  Today I will start off with the collards form yesterday and mix in some cucumber, spinach and green apple and pineapple.

Pineapple is one of those foods that is heaven to eat. A good, juicy ripe pineapple can satisfy a sweet craving as well as any chocolate bar. In addition to being a delicious food, there are many health benefits of pineapple.

Pineapple Strengthens Bones
One of the benefits of pineapple is that it helps to build healthy bones. Pineapples are rich in manganese, a trace mineral that is needed for your body to build bone and connective tissues. Just one cup of pineapple provides 73% of the daily recommended amount of manganese. The benefits of pineapple can effect the growth of bones in young people and the strengthening of bones in older people.

Pineapple is Good for Colds and Coughs
While many people often take extra vitamin C or drink extra orange juice when they have a cold, few consider eating pineapple. The benefits of pineapple when you have a cold or cough are the same as the benefits of orange juice, but there is an additional benefit of pineapple. Bromelain, which is found in pineapples, has been found to help suppress coughs and loosen mucus.

I will continue my just dance workout today!!!  God Bless and love to all!

  1. So glad to hear your still juicing even though you're eating solid whole foods again! This is a lifestyle change that we just can't quit because it's amazing!!! I'm so happy you're experiencing such success. My mother is doing really well on day two and I am so proud of her for beginning this journey. You don't understand how difficult it is for her to begin things and then finish them but I have faith that she will see this through because it works so well and it's not a gimmick like most diets. I am going to shop with her tomorrow afternoon and pick up some spinach, apples, and watermelon at my local outdoor market because they sell those three items dirt cheap!!! Then she's going to come over and do some Wii Just Dance 1 with me! I need a workout buddy anyway and I hope this encourages her. Once again.... Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead has inspired and motivated some people to take that first step. I now look at vegetables in a whole new way... where I crave them! I am a vegan for a year now but just because I'm a vegan doesn't mean I don't succumb to unhealthy vegan foods. I'm happy with juicing and hope I can lose as much weight as you have. I haven't been able to actually fast because I am a very limited amount of money for food but I suppliment with watermelon, beans, salad, and rice. I am on a slower weight loss process but the more watermelon I eat, the faster I lose since it's kind of like a juice. LOL

  2. Lisa..thank you so much for posting the link to my blog. I see you are continuing with juicing..that is terrific. Between you and Stacy helping me and supporting me I know I will continue on. I started my 4th day and will continue to 10 days as long as everything is good. I am keeping track of my weight and looking forward to saying that I lost 15 lbs. I will be checking in on your recipes to see what combinations you are using. Pineapples sound real good. Keep up the great juicing!
