Day 5 ....can you say EMOTIONAL...What's Up Doc??!


WOW this is definitely a journey an emotional one!!!  All I did last night was dream of food.  I am not starving at all or have hunger pains.  My brain just is on over kill thinking I am being starved.  Well as soon as I got on the scale BAM no more food thoughts I lost another 2.5 lbs!!!! Total now of 9 lbs in 5 Days ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME!!!  I know most of it has to be water weight.  I have to say I like not being swollen all the time.  I now can see the veins in my hands and feet lmao.  I have a long journey ahead of me there is much much more I have to lose.  This is the begining and thanks to my daughter for being my biggest fan and making feel quilty if I didnt juice because she went and bought me all the veggies lol.  Kidding aside I do have much more energy that I can't believe.  I use to take naps during the day and now I have not napped in 5 days..

So this morning I will have a Carrot Ginger Juice to start off my day!

4 carrots
4 celery Sticks
1/4 inc piece of fresh ginger root

My power food today in my juicing is the CARROT!

Apart from that, carrots are also good sources of vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin K, biotin, fiber, potassium and thiamine. Here are 7 health benefits of carrots for human body:
  1. Prevent Cancer
    Many studies shown that eating carrots may help lower the risk of breast cancer, lung cancer and colon cancer. Recently, researchers have isolated a compound called falcarinol in carrots that may be largely responsible for anti-cancer benefits. In addition, beta-carotene help protect against macular degeneration and the development of senile cataracts. A study found that people who eat most Beta-carotene had 40 percent lower risk of macular degeneration than those who consumed little.
  3. Prevent heart disease
    Studies shown that a diet high in carotenoids are associated with a lower risk of heart disease. Also, it is believed that regular consumption of carrots reduces cholesterol levels. Soluble fiber in carrots can help lower blood cholesterol levels by binding with and removing bile acids, cholesterol triggers would be pulled out from the bloodstream to make more bile acids.
  4. Reduce the risk of stroke
    According to research from Harvard University, people who ate more than six carrots a week are much less likely to suffer a stroke than those who ate only one carrot a month or more.
  5. Nourish Skin
    Carrot has a strong cleansing properties that are effective in detoxifying the liver, so that the overall effective for acne that is caused by toxins from the blood. Carrot is also useful for treating uneven skin tones because of pigmentation. The vitamin A and other nutrients contain in carrot efficiently nourish the skin, prevent dry skin and other skin blemishes.
  6. Anti-aging
    Carrots contain a lot of beta-carotene, which serves as an antioxidant that helps the body to fight the cell damage done to the body with dirt in the bloodstream and even oxygen. It also help slows down the aging of cells and various negative effect associated with aging.
  7. Dental Health
    Carrots can even help clean your teeth, and is the best way to keep your mouth clean after meals. They act as natural abrasives, help in eliminate the sticky dirt from the teeth and stimulate gums. They also trigger a lot of saliva, which helps to scrub away stains on your teeth. Minerals in carrots helps to kill germs in the mouth and prevent tooth damage.
Carrot are really an amazing vegetable. There are many benefits of carrots and they are easy to add to your diet without much extra preparation. Carrots, as raw fruit juice or in cooked form are good for health.

  1. Congratulations! I wanted to ask you if you are drinking enough juice to get about 1600 calories? That's important so double check...maybe that's why you're dreaming of food? Or it could just be your mind trying to make you cave...

  3. I have no clue how many calories I am taking in not good huh? LOL I drink at least 3 to 4 times a day and full size quart so I am assuming I am getting plenty of calroies lol You I smelled boiled eggs today which normaly smel really bad to me and today they smelled so good lmao! Half way it is a merical.. but its all because of my daughter I feel i cant let her down and I really need this for myself.

  4. Check the reboot your life website which is from the fat sick and nearly dead movie and they give you an idea on there how many calories to ingest. In the recipes, they give the calorie amount. This is sort of a role reversal with calories because instead of trying to eat less you're trying to eat more because they're calories for energy and not fat

  5. You are doing fantastic. I am amazed that you have succeeded to get to day 5..congratulations!! I understand that you don't want to disappoint your daughter but you are also doing this for you as you said. Looking forward to your day 6.

    I have been out all day and a thought came to my mind. In 1997, I saw Jack Lalanne doing a commercial on his Juicer..called The Juiceman 11. I have it. I just found it in my cabinet where it has been for umpteen years..LOL!!..I am in business. I can now save some money to get a much better one. this one is over 10 years old. Will clean it and see if it still works.

  6. Ha ha that is so funny my mom is visiting from Jersey and she said she has Jack l's juicer in her cabinet for upteen years now lol when sh gets home she will find it and see if it works to. I made my afternoon juice yesterday and my bullet over heated and I thought oh crap!! so went to my sisters with only half quart of juice and later in the evening I had some cut up fresh reb bell peppers and slices of tomatoes. But this morning I turned it on and was able to juice again whew!

  7. I had bought a refurbished Breville and also a year service plan and after a week of use, the motor broke. Luckily it was still under the 90 manufacturer's warranty and I got an updated refurbished Breville with a motor burnout reset detector. I'm still cautious though...I don't think I did anything the first time to break it because I haven't changed what I am doing when I juice...so who knows...
